I have two beautiful pets (one cat, one dog) and I want to breed them to make a ‘cross-breed’. Is this possible? Will it work? How would I go about it?
Thanks!

I don’t think you can mate them but you should so totally give them a wedding! But you gotta explain to them first that only one of them can be the bride..

This must be extremely embarrassing for you. At any rate, if you still need an answer, no, cats and dogs cannot and will not breed. They are genetically incompatible. Also, two females cannot breed. Breeding is defined as the production of offspring from sexual reproduction, which requires a male and a female. Society has nothing to do with it.
If you were inspired by hybrid fruits or something like a liger or zonkey, you need to know that hybrid fruits were initially very similar and were then either genetically modified in a lab or artificially pollinated. Ligers are a mix between a tiger and a lion, which are very genetically similar, much like a horse and donkey unlike cats and dogs.

omg… y would u want a dog/cat? ok first of all, if u wanted them 2 mate, it wouldnt be of their own free will. second of all, if they actually did mate, it would produce some sort of mutant monster animal thing. third of all, you cant mix two females. totally impossible. and lastly, if all that actualy worked, u would like totally break a world record or something for the worlds most odd creature.

All of the people who ask questions like this, should never be allowed to reproduce. Better yet their parents should not have been allowed.
Is the only thing we learn in school now is how to program a cell phone or how to ask stupid questions on the computer.

umm ok… a cat and a dog are completely different species and they CANNOT mate with each other, it doesn’t work that way. And i don’t think they would want to breed with each other because if they would you would already have kittens/puppies. lol

i dont think its possible and if it was it might turn out t be a very ugly cog (cat + dog = cog) and i think it would be unfair to mate a cat and a dog
hope i helped

No. They’re two different species. The only way they could produce a hybrid was in a laboratory through gene-splicing etc and the result would be a monster. This is a weird idea of yours, to be honest.

you shouldnt be allowed to have pets, or be in a 50 mile radius of one for that matter . . .

Are you mad???!!! You can’t breed a cat and a dog, you may end up a mad scientist or the result may be dogcatenstein

*FACEPALM*
You’d need a penis in there. No male = no babies.
Don’t forget your helmet, dear.
You need it to differentiate yourself from the “non-special” kids.

no
they can do “it” but you will never have a cross between a dog and a cat as there cells have different amounts of chromosomes

I hope you wear a helmet when you leave your house. You can fall down and get hurt.

One ought to deep-dyedly breed, and not eventually be unduly confounded regarding the whole deal them
