She is all black. short-haired. yellow eyes. so many breeds fit this description. but her fur from her eyes to her ears is very thin. I have had another cat like this before. but i never knew the breed.

Could be a Bombay. I had a neighbor who had one.
The Bombay’s sleek, glossy black coat and copper eyes make it resemble a miniature black panther. It was developed from the Burmese breed and exhibits the muscular body type and affectionate, playful temperament of the Burmese.

Hard to say without a picture, and not certain even with. 99% of the cats in the world aren’t certain breeds, kind of like mutts in dogs. Call her a black domestic short hair cat.

my guess would be a mixed breed
take it to a vet or some where professional and find out

I’ve worked with animals my entire life, and 99.9% of black cats that I’ve come in contact with have the thinner hair between the eyes and ears… It does not sound like an American Shorthair, however it is most likely what is known as a DSH(domestic short hair). It’s just another term for a mixed breed shorthaired cat>

Sounds like a DSH – domestic shorthair tabby

She is probably an American Shorthair.

She is a American Shorthair. All of my kitty’s have the thinning hair from the eyes to ears. I believe it is very common I have never seen a cat without the thinning hair.

I believe it may be an american short hair too. Though depending on where you got the cat it could be an american short hair mix.
