Which Breed Of Cat Has The Nicest Demeanor?
I know every cat has its own personality but I know certain breeds of dog are nicer and sweeter then others. So I’m curious are certain cat breeds sweeter then others? And which ones?
Thanks

Tonkinese, Burmese, Persian, Himilayan, Russian Blues, Scottish Folds, and Birmans , just to name a few. : )
In my last issue of Cat Fancy, there was a big article on the large amounts of homeless cats in Greece. What about adopting one? My husbands cousin lives in Loutraki, and rescued a Persian. It’s so cute!

Cats weren’t really bred to have sweeter demeanors than others- they’re basically bred for body shape, or coat color, length, or markings. Talking actual breeds, Ragdoll cats are supposed to have lovely personalities. I don’t think there are breeds that are sweeter than others, just more active or mischievous.
If you’re looking for a sweet cat, however, all you really have to do is pop into your local animal shelter. They have many domestic longhair/shorthair cats with sweet demeanors that were dumped there by previous owners. Adult cat personalities don’t change the way kittens’ do, so what you see is pretty much what you get.

I personally think Turkish Angoras have a great personality. Mine is a member of our family, she follows us around the house, wanting to know exactly what is going on, and how she can help. She is also quite vocal, and chirps and mews back and forth when we talk to her. (I’m not afraid to admit that I talk to my cat) The breed in general is very sweet and affectionate, they are also very intelligent, and have even been known to do tricks. We are working on fetch, but I don’t see any success in that venture, it is entertaining though!

I’ve had several tabbies. Just mutts from the pound, but they have been the sweetest and like to cuddle. In my experience males are more friendly than females. I had a siamese and a friend of mine had one and they can be snotty and meow their complaints alot.

We have always owned tuxedo cats (black and white). They are mutts of course, but have always been the most friendly.

The persian breed is so calm and sweet. They do have a lot of hair though!
