Anyone Successfully Toilet Train A Cat?

I want to toilet train my cat. He is 6 years old, but he is very good about using his litter box, even when it is dirty, or if I move it to different rooms.
Has anyone used the citikitty or another device like it?
Thank you.

I tried it one time with my first cat. He was fine till the plastic center was taken out. Once he saw the water in the bowl (he was terrified of water) he refused to get up there.
Its a 50/50 chance. I don’t like the idea as you cannot monitor how much they go or don’t go (like UTI’s – especially for a male) and can’t really check the poop either.

When I worked in a pet store we sold a product that looked eactly like Citykitty but had a different name. I met a lady that had her cat on letterman because she had taught it to use the toilet and he could flush. Although she said the flushing was a fluke, she didn’t train that, she had used the toilet training product and raved about it. She actually bought another to teach her new cat to use it. Unfortunately, she was the only customer I ever got feedback from in the four years I worked there. I have read about it elsewhere and the reviews seem mixed, I think it just depends on the cat.
It is sold on amazon and has a bunch of reviewshttp://www.amazon.com/CitiKitty-Cat-Toil…

There is a device I have, it’s called a litter locker, you put it by your cat box and have a scoopable litter, and every time you put it in the locker, you turn a handle and the bag is closed, so you don’t smell the litter in between times you scoop. I have that and I love it. There is no smell!
My dad didn’t train his cat, his cat learned by watching him on the pot, which is weird. But he trained himself really. I think it’s laziness, though, for my dad’s cat, he’s a big cat, and the litter box is in the basement, and he doesn’t like to go down there.
I’ve seen very good results with citikitty, a friend of ours used it and both their cats now use the toilet.

My cat is a great litter box user too, but I can’t stand the smell so this is what I did. Put his litter box in the bathroom next to the toilet on the floor. Wait for a couple of days or so. Then take a book or a box and raise the litter box up a little at a time. We spent seven days raising the litter box a little each day. When your litter box is the same height as the toilet and your cat is used to this, take a pan and place it in the toilet. Put a little litter in the pan. Let him do his business in the pan. Then a day or two later take the pan away. Put a little bit of litter in the toilet. I even put a little litter on the seat, that seemed to help him. He should by now be using the potty. My cat took forever trying to bury it, but he gets it now. This worked for our little man, hopefully this helps you. Take as much time as the cat needs, and do it slowly. It sucks having to share the bathroom with a litter box for a while, but so worth it. No more litter box changes!
