my 6 year old cat is urinating on my carpet. BRAND NEW carpet with no traces of previous cats. This is the second place and the second time. I just don’t know what to do this time.

she probably has a urinary tract infection. tape down some garbage bags and put towels on top of them. alot of towels all ober the house. cats peeing outside the box means hes trying to tell you something. then get him to the vetrinarian. he needs meds to clear up or it will get worse and hell start peeing blood. it could be a territorial thing and maybe hell stop in a few after hes told everybody this is his home with a few scent markers. how new is the carpet…like yesterday old or two months ago old?

I think your cat is not using his litter box hummmmmmmmmm…………!
It may be because he does not like the litter box. Maybe you’re using a litter that is scented too strongly, or the litter box is dirty, or he doesn’t like where you put it, or he may not like the feel of the litter you bought. Try changing the litter and place a few of them around the house. You can later get rid of the ones he doesn’t use. And try these steps
step 1- when you see your cat/kitten about to poop pick it up gently and carry to the litter box
step 2- give lots of attention once done the toilet and a treat
step 3-repeat very time until it learns doing the toilet in the box is a good thing
if it dose it anyway ells lightly tap the cat/kitten on the nose and say no.
I think that this will work.

I know that my cat does this when he feels that his ‘toilet’ is too dirty, smelly to use. Otherwise, if it’s soemthing brand new, they tend to do that to sometimes mark their territory. The only thing you can do is watch closely over your cat and whenever he’s about to do it, say NO or spray water on it.

Toilet trained? You’re cat? In the toilet? Sell it on ebay. Whenever he goes into another room follow him. When he starts lifting his leg up simply say no in a stern voice and take him outside (or to your toilet). Don’t rub his/her face in it because that has no effect.
