How Do I Help My Cats Become Friends Again?
- No trackbacks yet.
I have 3 cats 2 brothers + another. 1 left the house for a long time, and now ever since he came back the other 2 hate him.
What is the best thing to do to make them friends again. I try keeping them in the same room but all they do is growl at each other.
Again, Become, Cats, Friends, Help

Since cats live in a world of scents, they may not recognize him, as his scents have probably changed while he was gone.
So you have to trick them. There are two easy ways to do this. One is to take a towel, and rub it all over each of them, mixing their scents. They may think they smell the same. The second approach is a dab of vanilla above their nose and the base of their tail. They will think they smell the same.
And, give them all lots of love and attention, so they don’t think you are playing favorites.

it’ll be pretty ugly for a while. Cats are actually pack animals. In the wild, they live in colonies. Right now, he’s a stranger. Eventually, they’ll consider him to be family. The worst thing you can do right now is to force it. Don’t lock them up together, and feed them in separate places. Give them separate litter pans. You don’t want to start a turf war.

Well…you could try to learn each others scent but I’m sure it would take a long time. But be careful if the 2 cats get too aggressive, they might fight so you might as well sometimes watch them so they don’t fight. Sorry that’s all I know. I don’t really know how to make them friends again but just be careful. (I hope this helped!)

Its all normal
They will work it out
He just smells different and the other cats dont like it
Just like if you take one to the vet and it comes home it smells different to your other cats and you get to listen to them hiss and growl.
They will get over it in their own time

You should buy them toys, maybe they’ll bond over the joys of cat toys.
