I have a 5 year old cat whose mellow 50% of the time and super hyped the other 50% – I mean she loves to chase things and get rough. Of course I would never leave her alone with a baby anyything, but as the bunny grows, will she be more aware of how to act around it? If I got a baby bunny, would she eat it? Do cats and bunnies get along well? Would a cat be too mean to a bunny?

I had a bunny named Bow and I still have my cat named Aero. They were so cute when they were little. They used to chase each other around the house and play. The thing is is that I got the bunny first and then I got Aero when he was a kitten. When we got Aero, he was smaller then the bunny and intimidated by him. They were best friends though and when Bow died he was heartbroken. Bunnies and cats can be friends. You need to really watch your cat and let they play, but it the cat starts playing rough, put the bunny back. The cat has the upper hand in this battle.
If you want extra precaution, try putting some claw caps on the cat. They’re called soft paws and you can get them and almost any pet store. I would give it a try, but I don’t personally know your animals, so just don’t let them out of your sight at first and see how they do. Good Luck!

They will get along if the cat thinks that the bunny is lunch.

cats get along fine with bunnies. my cats always played with her and she enjoyed chasing them around too.

well i dont know about baby rabits but about hamsters yes i do. i have to kittens and a hamster but the hamster does not stay in a cage he likes to be free but the kittens some times hit him on the back but not that hard but the female does not like the hamster she some times trys to bite him but he runs fast so she cant get him but i dont think it is a good idea if they are babys u shuld wait till they grow up.

I had this same thing, I had a older cat that grew up in the house, my little sister wanted a bunny. The bunny we got was still very little and the cat did not know how to act with it.
But, after playing with the bunny infrount of the cat and involing the cat in some of the play they because close.
My father did have to punish the cat a few times in the beginning for being to hostle, but after time they both liked each other. As the bunny go bigger they started to play together alot more and would chase each other around the house, kinda like tag.
The wierd thing was the bunny learned to use the litterbox, so we let it run around all the time. He did chew through some things, so be very watchful.
