I always use Petromalt. Most of my cats have liked it. My current one doesn’t (he’s picky anyway so I’m not surprised), so I stick it on his paws which forces him to lick it off. He is not amused but he still does it.

I use olive oil on my kitties food about 2-3 imes a week. If your cat stops having hairballs you can let up on the olive oilto about once a week or less.

I prevent the problems by sprinkling extra virgin olive oil on kitty’s dry food 2-3 times a week during heavy shedding periods & once a week for maintenance otherwise. Although not all my cats liked butter, none ever minded the oil. Makes their fur & skin real nice, too.
