Training A Cat To Stop Scratching?

I have a year old cat and she is just nuts. Ive never owned a cat and maybe she can sense that. But she has destroyed so many things that im tempted to get rid of her (but secretly dont want to!) She doesnt like to be locked out of a room, when my roommate and I go to sleep we both shut our doors weather she is in the room or not, she will scratch at the carpet causes it to pull up. To temp. solve that I found thin doormats to put under the door and fit perfectly. She will only sleep with my roommate and not with me. She has chewed 5 pairs of headphones, ruined a dress but scratching at it, ruined throw rugs, towels, speaker wires, plastic bags, really anything that is in a bag (toilet paper, potatoes) i could really go on. But i really need to fix these problems. In a couple of months I am moving in with my parents until I cant find a job and get an apartment (im moving to a different city, Im not a bum!). And I really dont want my parents house/things getting ruined.
I really dont want to get her de-clawed, im really against that, but if nothing works i may have no choice other than placing her in a another home. Then why did I get a cat in the first place?
Ive heard about the double stick tape, havent tried it, but i think she will just play with it. She has a scratching post, kinda, she wouldnt use the scratching post that I bought when i got her, so i bought a disposable one, its pretty much like cardboard that she uses all the time! She has plenty of toys, and I just cant take her to my parents house worrying about her destroying their house!
How Do I Train My Cat To Use A Scratching Post?

Do they just sort of know to use it, like with a litter box? Or does it take a bit more to get them comfortable with it? I’ve never used catnip with my kitten, and I’m not sure if I want to due to my not knowing much about it. If there’s away around it, I’d like to use it. :]

I want to train it to use a scratching post instead. It is a 7 year old that was abandoned. How can I train it and will it be possible?
Top Five Cat Grooming Problems And How To Solve Them
If you have a cat then you know how important it is to groom your cat on a regular basis. When grooming your cat there are 5 cat grooming problems you need to know and you need to know how to solve these problems.

To help with this you want to get them a scratching post because this allows them to exercise their claws and will help wear down the long tips. When necessary you want to clip their claws my hand and your veterinarian can show you how to do that.
3. Bathing – There are some cats that won’t require a bath but if they suffer from fleas or if their coat smells than it is definitely time for a bath. Everyone knows that cats hate water.
Giving your cat a bath might be a little difficult but it can be done with patience and encouragement from you for your cat. When bathing them you want to use only shampoo that is formulated for cats or you can use a baby shampoo that is tearless.
When you do have to bath your cat if you give them a treat afterwards then they will start to associate a treat with a bath and it will get easier every time.
4. Eye cleaning – You must keep your cats eyes clean which can be easily done with a cotton tipped swab dipped in warm water. This will help them from developing eye problems. Just be gentle with them and take your time and eventually they will get used to this step.
5. Ear cleansing – There are many health problems that a cat can get from ears that are not kept clean. You need to gently swab the ear with a cotton swab to keep problems away. Use this as bonding time and go slowly to clean their ears so they don’t get scared.

My girlfriend recently moved in, and her cat likes to scratch on the carpet. We have a scratching post and, according to my girlfriend, it even has catnip in it, but her cat refuses to use it. She’d rather scratch at the carpet. Is there any way to train her to use the scratching post?
